Background Information
Corporate & Professional Pensions
Corporate & Professional Pensions (also known as CPPL or C & P Trustees) were a SIPP provider based in Weymouth have been trading since 2007, however, they called in administrators on 1 February 2022, following a number of Financial Ombudsman final decisions upheld against them. When assessing claims against the firm, the Financial Ombudsman Service has found that the firm was not properly protecting its clients. They did not carry out adequate due diligence on the investments it was allowing within their pensions, nor did they do enough to protect their clients against rouge or unregulated advisers selling unsuitable products and using their SIPP as a vehicle in which to house these poor and often very high-risk investments. There are currently a number of claims still ongoing against the firm which is likely to be transferred to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
